Dr. Kobi Steinberg

Dr. Kobi Steinberg is an orthopedic surgery specialist with a subspecialty in hand surgery, possessing extensive clinical and surgical experience. Dr. Steinberg studied medicine at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and subsequently completed his orthopedic residency at Shaare Zedek Medical Center. Following successful completion of his residency, he further specialized in hand surgery at the same institution.

As a senior specialist in the Hand Surgery Unit, aside from his operating room activities, Dr. Steinberg is actively involved in the routine activities of the unit, including providing consultations to hospital departments, outpatient clinic work, and participation in a multidisciplinary clinic for prenatal ultrasound diagnosis of fetal abnormalities. Throughout his career, he has undergone training both in Israel and abroad, acquiring profound knowledge in treating various pathologies of the upper limb, such as soft tissue injuries, fractures, congenital deformities, corrective procedures, and degenerative hand diseases, utilizing innovative surgical techniques and advanced treatment methods.

As a member of the Israeli Society for Surgery of the Hand, Dr. Steinberg participates in professional conferences and is actively involved in clinical research within the field. He introduced the thumb basal joint replacement (CMC1) surgery to Shaare Zedek after undergoing specialized training abroad. Since then, many patients have benefited from this surgery, quickly returning to routine activities.

In addition to these activities, Dr. Steinberg is a faculty member within the department, delivering lectures and lessons to medical residents and students.

Apart from his hospital role, Dr. Steinberg operates an independent hand clinic at the Leumit Health Fund’s Trumpeldor branch in Jerusalem.
